June is Pride Month and we want to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world, the beer industry, and our company.
Pride Month began as a commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village, during which LGBTQ+ patrons of the Stonewall Inn fought back against harassment and intimidation. Now regarded as the catalyst of the modern gay rights movement, Stonewall celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Since then, LGBTQ+ people have worked tirelessly worldwide for equality, recognition, and acceptance. For the month of June, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ+ folks locally, nationally, and internationally. We also mourn the loss of those that never had the opportunity to see a better world due to senseless violence and discrimination. Pride reminds us to cherish what we have won, remember what we have lost, and keep fighting for those in our community still in need today.
Craft beer has brought communities closer all over the world. Whether you’re brewing it, pouring it, or drinking it, anyone can enjoy beer and connect through it to others. We are proud to be a platform that brings people together to celebrate beer in all forms and maybe learn a bit about each other along the way. We hope that LGBTQ+ people can find a safe space in their local breweries, and we are excited to see more and more members of the community making beer together!
One of our core values at Untappd is diversity: “We respect the individuals we work with and embrace differing perspectives. We collaborate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures to make better decisions.”
We want everyone to feel welcome in the Untappd family, which is why this Pride Month, we will be adding some exciting new features to celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends, coworkers, brewers, and beer lovers!
Check-in any beer between June 1 and June 30, 2019 and you’ll unlock this year’s “Pride Month (2019)” badge!
A new Pride sticker pack will be available in the photo editor.
We hope everyone has a wonderful Pride Month and encourage all to continue making the craft beer community a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ people around the world! Cheers to living openly, loving proudly, and embracing diversity!

Beers are only available in selected outlets throughout the country. In these outlets, beer lovers are asked to give their opinion about the beers.
